Hello, I’m Louise, the founder of The Stamped Stitch Club.
I’ve been stitching for around 30 years, and cross stitch has always been the thing that helps me switch off and feel calm, something steady to come back to, no matter what else is going on.
A few years ago I had some health challenges, and during treatment I didn’t really have the concentration or energy for counted cross stitch anymore. One of my lovely customers suggested I try stamped kits so I could still enjoy stitching without the same level of focus. So I did, but I quickly realised that the quality available didn’t feel right.
And then that same customer said something that changed everything: “If you can’t find what you’re looking for, why not create your own?”
I had absolutely no idea how to do that… but I decided to try.
I spent months researching manufacturers, I had a small team testing sample kits, and talking to other stitchers about what worked, and what really didn’t. Eventually I found the right production partner, someone who listened and understood what I was trying to achieve. And that’s really where The Stamped Stitch Club began.
All of the chart conversions are created by me, with a bit of technical help from my dad when needed using his artistic background. My aim is always the same — the finished piece should look as close as possible to the original artwork. That sometimes means confetti and colour changes, but I think the final result is worth it.
We also design based on stitch count, not physical size. So if you stitch on 11 count, you still get the same level of detail as someone stitching on 14, 16 or 18 count, your piece is just physically larger. Nobody should have to sacrifice detail because they prefer a different fabric count.
Stamped cross stitch production is based in China, where the specialist equipment and experience already exist. Setting up something similar in the UK would require a huge investment and years of development, and it wouldn’t necessarily improve the end result.
Your kit is made to order, which means it’s printed and packed especially for you by our trusted manufacturing partner, then sent directly from them to your door. In the early days I tried bringing kits into the UK first and then posting them onwards, but that meant paying shipping and duties twice and slowed everything down.
Sending orders direct keeps things simpler, avoids unnecessary costs, and helps keep delivery times as quick as possible, all while maintaining the quality standard I insist on.
I try to keep our kits fairly priced for what they are. They do cost more than many stamped kits, mainly because of paying artists a fair level of royalties, the level of detail, charting work, and the quality we insist on.
At the same time, producing them in China means they generally remain more affordable than most counted full-coverage kits of a similar standard.
My aim is simply to balance accessibility with quality so you feel confident that what you’re stitching is worth your time.
Creating premium stamped kits to the same level of quality you would expect from a counted kit.
If you’re already part of our community, thank you for being here. And if you’re just discovering us - welcome. I hope our kits bring you the same sense of calm, focus, and quiet enjoyment that stitching has always brought me.
Warmly,
Louise
