Introducing our licensed artist Selina Fenech
We’re so excited to start a new series here at The Stamped Stitch Club where we shine a light on the incredible artists behind our licensed kits. Their talent is what makes our business unique, and we couldn’t think of a better person to begin with than Selina Fenech.
A Life Full of Magic and Adventure
Selina’s story is every bit as magical as the worlds she paints. Born in 1981 to Australian and Maltese parents, she grew up near Sydney with a boundless imagination. Her name itself means “moon”—fitting, as she entered the world on the night of a glowing full moon.
From a young age, Selina was captivated by fairy tales and myths. While most children clung to the words of the stories, she found herself utterly mesmerised by the pictures. The brushstrokes, the colours, the way illustrations brought entire worlds to life—it all bewitched her. Before long, she was creating her own artworks inspired by goddesses, fairies, and enchanted creatures.
Her journey has been just as extraordinary as her art. Over the years, Selina has discovered ancient Roman treasure, battled and survived cancer, had knights joust at her wedding, and made a living from her art by the age of twenty-three. She’s painted hundreds of works, written novels, and created handcrafted gifts—all while raising a family and embracing her love of cooking, homesteading, and all things wonderfully geeky.
Why We Love Her Work
Selina’s art is adored worldwide, and it’s not hard to see why. Every piece is filled with a sense of wonder, romance, and escapism. For us, her work is the perfect match for stamped cross stitch—detailed, magical, and made to be treasured over countless stitching hours.
We feel incredibly privileged to bring her licensed designs into our kits, knowing that each stitcher can bring to life the same sense of enchantment that inspired Selina as a child.
